Cold weather is creeping up and layers are officially the norm! I still love my dresses though so in this outfit, I paired this lovely floral dress with a larger jacket and boots to keep me warm. In parallel with the feminist and defiant attitude of our generation, care-free dresses were the major stars this summer (along with loose shorts, chunky shoes, and minimalist jewelry) and I'm interested to see how this trend will transition into the fall. What do you guys think?

There's something about the combo of ripped, distressed jeans and a nice pair of heels. Add a fedora and a classic shirt, and it's a juxtaposition of class and casual. This top was an unexpected thrift store find, and I'm really excited to have it. It may be a little wrinkled, but I like the old worn in character it adds to the outfit.

I swear, every girl needs a red dress she can dance in. Plus, these funky flatforms can definitely boost you up - literally. I found them at the thrift store and I couldn't help but imagine all the eclectic and wonderful outfits I could create with them. And they were from Express! Hey girls! My name is Sandy Hoang and I'm excited to start the school year off with a style blog. I'm a second-year pre-medicine student at the University of Virginia, but I'm also crazy about dressing myself up on a daily basis. This blog is a hybrid of my two interests, style and medicine -- hence the catchy name Style Syringe :P I can't wait to see what challenges and opportunities this project will create for my friends and me, and I hope you join along too.

In Virginia, we're experiencing an odd mixture of summer and fall weather, so I've combined leather and denim textures of the fall season with a fun crop-top and skater skirt silhouette from the summer season. So, here's to a smooth transition from a great summer at home to a fall adventure at school!
